> Hi,
>
> ¡Integrando a México! is a UWC Short programme that started in 2010 years ago. More than 40 Mexican youth from different socioeconomic backgrounds and parts of the country are gathered for a programme that ains at empowering the participants to become agents of social change.
>
> I was a facilitator for the course in 2011, and many participants have told me during and after the programme how much they had been changed and motivated to change aspects of their community. I am still in touch with a number of them, and have since then heard about their progress in realizing their social projects developed during the course.

> Attached below is a petition letter from a facilitator of ¡Integrando a México! 2012 with more information. Any support is greatly appreciated and needed to sponsor participants of¡Integrando a México! 2012.

> Dear friends and alumni,
>
> I write to you to ask you for your support for the realization of a youth empowerment course for 15-18 year old Mexicans called ¡Integrando a México! 2012, which will take place between the 9th of July and the 5th of August in the city of San Miguel de Allende, located in the center of the country.

> Currently, 1 out of every 3 Mexicans lives in poverty conditions, 4 out of 10 does not have access to health services and 4 out of 10 do not even finish elementary school. These and other factors, in addition to the rise in crime and violence rates, have generated dire life conditions for millions of Mexicans. To be able to contribute with solutions that can improve the aforementioned conditions of life and solve the different social problems of the country, UWC Atlantic College alumni created ¡Integrando a México!. This course seeks to, as its Mission Statement says, "Make social entrepreneurship, civic engagement and national integration the means to improve the conditions of life in Mexico." For a 4-week period, young people from across Mexico gather and take part in a program of activities and workshops that both promotes leadership, teamwork, social activism and social entrepreneurship and provides them with the skills to cause a large social impact in their communities and across the country. With the practice of the aforementioned values, the wealth of experiences lived throughout the course, and the acquired knowledge and tools, the course participants immediately work both inidividually and collectively to solve the social problems of their communities and their country through actions and initiatives that imporve its social development.
>
> During the last two summers, 25 UWC students and alumni have organized and facilitated the first two editions of the initiative, ¡Integrando a México! 2010 and ¡Integrando a México! 2011. These courses have prepared and inspired more than 70 young Mexicans from across the country to be powerful agents of social change. This year, 16 UWC students and alumni will carry out¡Integrando a México! 2012, course with which we expect to provide the ¡Integrando a México! experience to 50 young Mexicans in order to sustain and keep developing the initiative while expanding its reach and impact.
>
